On June 12, the\u00a0Chaire de recherche sur les enjeux \u00e9conomiques interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnels<\/a>\u00a0(CREEI), the\u00a0Groupe de recherche sur le capital humain<\/a>\u00a0(GRCH) and ECOSVieQ are organizing a symposium at CIRANO<\/a> to provide an opportunity for students to discuss and present their respective research.<\/p>\n

The Chairholders actively participated in the event highlighting the\u00a025 Years of Public Policy in Quebec<\/a>\u00a0du\u00a0CIRANO<\/a>, which took place in Montr\u00e9al. Several professors-researchers and collaborators also participated.<\/p>\n

During Block 2: The State and the Private Sector, Pierre-Carl Michaud, taking part in a panel, presented on topics of effectively saving and effectively disbursing.<\/p>\n

During Block 4: What Role for Researchers in Public Policy Development?, Raquel Fonseca, taking part in a panel, presented on the work of the Chair whose mandate is to improve the state of knowledge on the economic impacts of demographic changes.<\/p>\n

During Block 5: Contemporary Public Policy Issues, Bernard Fortin took part in a chat underlining three studies related to the economic impact of the demographic transition. Benoit Dostie took part in the panel in this block.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

On May 30, the Chair organized a special session on retirement at the\u00a02015 conference of the Canadian Economics Association<\/a>, which took place at Ryerson University. The session included 3 presentations by Jean-Yves Duclos, Luc Bissonnette and Tammy Schirle.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Chair’s team took an active part in the\u00a055th<\/sup>\u00a0conference of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne de science \u00e9conomique (SCSE)<\/a>, which took place at ESG UQAM. Several team members chaired sessions or made presentations, and the Chair organized on May 14 a special session that included 3 presentations by Pierre-Carl Michaud, Isma\u00ebl Choini\u00e8re-Cr\u00e8vecoeur and Marie-Louise Leroux.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Workshop on microsimulation and health<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
On March\u00a026, 2015, the Chair held a workshop on microsimulation and health<\/a>. The half-day event took place at Universit\u00e9 Laval and brought together the Chair\u2019s team and approximately fifty participants, half of which were from various Quebec government agencies. The session\u2019s objective – which was to exchange on the participants\u2019 and the Chair\u2019s work on the topic and on the participants\u2019 interest in the latter – has been largely reached. <\/i><\/i><\/span>Launch of the Industrial Alliance Research Chair on the Economics of Demographic Change<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
The Industrial Alliance Research Chair on the Economics of Demographic Change was launched on September\u00a010, 2014 at Universit\u00e9 Laval. Those present included Universit\u00e9 Laval\u2019s rector, Denis Bri\u00e8re; UQAM\u2019s rector, Robert Proulx; representatives from the Chair\u2019s partners; and the deans of ESG\u00a0UQAM and the Facult\u00e9 des sciences sociales.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/span>CIRP\u00c9E\u2019s grande conf\u00e9rence<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
CIRP\u00c9E\u2019s 2014 “grande conf\u00e9rence” was held jointly with the Industrial Alliance Research Chair on the Economics of Demographic Change and the CIRANO, under the theme “Managing post-retirement risks: looming challenges”. The conference took place on September\u00a03, 2014 at Universit\u00e9 Laval.<\/p>\n
